For the past few months Ive been writing down my dreams every morning, and one image keeps coming back: a staircase going down into dark water. Every time it shows up, something in my waking life shifts within a week. Last time, I lost my job two days later (which ended up being for the better). Im not looking for an interpretation — just curious if anyone else has a personal symbol like that, something that keeps returning like it's trying to tell you something.
I get that staircase. Mines an elevator that opens onto the wrong floor — always the wrong floor, never my floor. For months I thought it was just stress architecture, but after a while I started noticing these things map onto old symbolic systems way more neatly than youd expect.

Recurring dream symbols feel like they live in the same neighborhood as the Major Arcana. Not in a mystical way, just in how both are built on stripped-down, high-signal images: stairs, doors, towers, moons. If you read the staircase as a kind of personal tarot card, the fact it keeps showing up is the point — the symbol repeats until you read it. I found this page a while back that's just a plain reference for the 22 cards:

It helped me stop asking what my elevator meant and start asking which part of the card my mind was redrawing. Might be a fun lens for your staircase too.
